About the Anvīkṣā

Anvīkṣā is the annual, peer-reviewed research journal of the Department of Sanskrit, Jadavpur University, published continuously since 1966 (ISSN: 0587‑1646). Over the decades, it has established itself as a prestigious and vibrant academic platform for scholars, faculty, and students to publish original and critical research in Sanskrit, English, and Bengali. Upholding rigorous academic standards, Anvīkṣā welcomes a wide range of interdisciplinary and Indological themes, contributing significantly to the field of classical and modern Sanskrit studies. The journal is carefully structured into three sections: invited articles from distinguished scholars across India and abroad; peer-reviewed papers by faculty members offering fresh insights into textual, philosophical, linguistic, or cultural subjects; and research contributions from M.Phil., Ph.D. scholars, and postgraduate students, providing a valuable platform for emerging voices in the discipline.

Anvīkṣā is not just a journal—it is a reflection of the Department’s rich intellectual legacy and a testimony to its ongoing pursuit of knowledge, tradition, and innovation in Sanskrit and Indological studies. All recent volumes, including calls for papers, are made available through journal archive, ensuring transparency and wide accessibility for researchers and contributors across the globe.
